Community Service Awards

Judges' Memorial Award for Community Service

This is a $100 award presented annually by the Judges Panel to a “Queen Contestant” who most exemplifies a willingness to serve her community

The Flaming Foliage Festival Family invites all Flaming Foliage Queen Contestants to be considered for a $100 award made each year in memory of our past Judges, who demonstrated an elite commitment to their Communities.

If you are interested in being considered for the Judges’ Memorial Award for Community Service Award, please complete a typed, one-page (front only) presentation which outlines your current community service activities. We’d like to be able to clearly see where you volunteer (you can list your activities), why you volunteer, how often (hours per week or month), and specifically what you do as a volunteer. Your volunteer activity must be current (within the past year). NOTE: School-related volunteer projects will be considered, however school-required projects will not; this award is designed to recognize activities you’ve undertaken of your own accord.

Your one-page summary must be accompanied by a letter of verification from a representative of at least one of the organizations in which you are a volunteer. The verification letter must be written on the letterhead of the organization and should attest to your status as a volunteer.

Please bring your one-page summary and verification letter to the Flaming Foliage Festival and present it to the Queens Coordinator upon your arrival. The information will be turned over to the judges for their review and consideration. All decisions of the judges will be final.

The Queen Contestant selected to receive the Award for Community Service will be announced during the Coronation ceremony Saturday evening and the award will be presented at that time.

We look forward to getting to know you Flaming Foliage Weekend!
